M.Bowles
1991-2004 & occasionally since..

Magnus joined us from Newton St. Cyres looking for a more relaxed style of cricket. This he found, and as Captain spread this ethos throughout the team. A natural bowler and hard hitting batsman he emulated his hero ITB's achievements for Somerset and England in the 80's, carrying the side through some lean years. Always selfless in the bar, Magnus will always be assured a guest spot in the team and a warm welcome in the Half Moon.

Pre 1983-1997

The best Tea Person a club could wish for.Jean's sandwiches and cakes, not to mention hot dogs for evening games, were legendary. There can't be many clubs where you could get cheese and beetroot sandwiches to order! You'll always be missed Jean, although our waist lines are probably better off!

R.Jennings
Pre 1983-1997

President of the club from 1990 to 1997. Slow bowler with mixed fortunes.Finished his career with bowling figures of 898.3 Overs 95 Maidens 4847 Runs 211 Wickets
giving him an average of 22.97 with best bowling figures of 6 - 37, and batting figures of 1881 Runs from 269 Innings with a best score of 61.

D.McGurk
1992 and 1994

Sadly returned Down Under. A short but entertaining Cheriton career. Finished with batting figures of 716 Runs from 37 innings with a best score of 77.

Rodney spent more time at the crease than the rest of the club put together, although it was with a mower and roller and not a bat, in his role of groundsman.
With the ball was often seen helping himself to lower order wickets. Still shares the record for most catches by an outfielder in one match.

R.Marshall
1990-2000
The holder of the most wicket in a season, well he was Captain that summer, Rodney is surpassed in his appeals only by Oxfam. He usually managed to cajole and plead his way to a couple of wickets, and did not take himself off until he had... Now resident in La Belle France he often threatens to pop back, Lord help us!

A.Pottle
1985-1991

A very promising cricketer whose game was improving year on year.Tragically died far too young from cancer, robbing him of the chance to achieve his full potential. Greatly missed but still remembered in the shape of the Andrew Pottle Memorial Shield which is awarded to the Player of the Year.

Andy was very much a team player (unlike his brother!). Very dependable with both bat and ball. Lately seen running the line at Tiverton Town Football Club and in the Dr.Martens Leagues.

1984-1994

A formidable left arm bowler who set many records in his time, and with the bat made Geoffrey Boycott look interesting! It takes skill to open the batting on a Sunday afternoon and bat for 3 hours and only score 5 runs. Always looked after his average. We draw fewer games since Rob's move to Exeter. Has career statistics of 1443.5 Overs 298 Maidens 4773 Runs 356 Wickets giving him an average of 13.40 and with the bat scored 2629 Runs from 168 Innings with an amazing 50 Not Outs (mind that average Rob).

Ah,"The Great GW".What can be said about Guy that he hasn't already said for himself? Who can forget his telling and retelling of every shot from his latest record breaking innings? Set an unreachable standard as far as batting was concerned, luckily for the rest of the team his bowling was never as good as he thought it was. He held the record for most runs in a season for 14 years, with 1216 runs from just 24 innings. From 46 Career innings he scored 1920 Runs which included 9 half centuries and 6 centuries, 236 fours, 110 sixes and a top score of 182, giving him an average of 48.00. Guy bowled 116.2 Overs and took 46 Wickets for 690 Runs giving an average of 15.00. There'll always be a place in the team for you Guy.
